Food obsession is an ugly thing. It’s an eating disorder. To fight this addiction, I feel like it has genuinely been a battle.
Today, beyond being drained and exhausted, I am feeling truly blessed. The Finally Inspired Happiness Expo was a genuine success! I am so thrilled that we had such high energy, positive, loving people participate in this event! It was fun, inspiring, and everything I hoped it would be. Here are some videos from the event.
If you are someone who, for whatever reason, has gotten off track with your weight loss- I want you to know I understand and you are not alone in what you are experiencing. There is no reason to feel shame. I also encourage you to make time to reflect on what you want for yourself. Where do you see yourself in a year? Three years? Five years? Dig deep and imagine the best case scenario, then plan for that! You can do it! A set back can not stop you. It didn't stop me.
When I was 325 pounds I felt like all of my problems revolved around my weight. I thought I needed to lose weight because it was the only thing that could make me happier, help me do better in my career, improve my relationships, or make me a better mom. Now that I have lost 175 pounds I can honestly say that losing the weight was just one step towards improving my life.
The half marathon I have chosen to participate in is the Yosemite Half Marathon, hosted by Vacation Races. I am so excited to jog this scenic course through the woods outside of Yosemite National Park! My husband will be joining me and I am thankful for the opportunity to enjoy a weekend away with him; doing something together that will improve our health and lives.
You are here seeking the truth, right? Let me be honest, your biggest key is mental preparedness. You need to commit to this journey and not give up.
Everyone in my homes loves it when I make this hearty Vegan Shepherd's Pie. It is loaded with veggies and savory lentils and topped with fluffy mashed potatoes. You won’t miss the meat in this dish because it is so flavorful and satisfying! This recipe also reheats well so it’s the perfect make ahead dinner for busy nights.
This delicious dish made the perfect main course for my last Christmas dinner. Even the heavy meat eaters in my family really enjoyed this decadent portabella mushroom wellington. I admit, it's really not the healthiest meal with oil and pastry, but it's so good and perfect for Holidays or special occasions.
While working with people who are on a weight loss journey, I have realized how common self doubt and insecurity is with those who have been overweight. That is why I want to share with you some of the steps I took to stop constantly saying "I'm Sorry" and to speak in a way that will diminish self-criticisms and doubt.
